Commercial Lines Underwriter

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and supporting businesses in commercial lines insurance via a diversified distribution network. This role requires a good understanding of commercial underwriting and the ability to collaborate with the team towards achieving business objectives.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Technical support: Provide guidance and support to customers, intermediaries and colleagues as necessary
- Policy Review: Evaluate and approve commercial insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
- Risk Assessment: Assess risks associated with various commercial insurance products, considering industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with other internal underwriting teams, ensuring effective communication and resolving queries to enhance partnerships.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, company policies, and industry standards in all underwriting activities.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor client’s performance, analyse key metrics, and follow up on loss control recommendations.
- Customer Focus: Maintain a customer-centric approach, providing excellent service across multiple distribution channels.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Professional certifications in insurance equivalent to (or higher than) Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) is the preferred requisite.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the local insurance industry.
Preferred Skillset:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex underwriting situations and make sound decisions.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market trends, customer needs, and company policies.
- Ability to interact effectively with insurance intermediaries, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Motor Underwriting Officer

The company is expanding its operations to meet the demands of its growing product lines and customer base. As a result, we are looking for a Motor Underwriting Officer to join our Motor Underwriting Department, operating from both its Head Office and various Branches.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with customers (face-to-face, via email, and over the phone).
- Responding to queries and explaining products and services to clients.
- Obtaining, handling, and processing of customer documentation.
- Issuing of motor quotations, policies, and renewals.
- General office duties.
- Branch support.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of two years' experience in the local insurance industry.
- Possession of an insurance-related qualification or currently pursuing a related certification considered an asset.
Skills:
- Sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership.
- Ability to handle various customer types.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English & Maltese.

Are you an ambitious individual who is keen to develop a career in the insurance industry? We are seeking to recruit a Motor Claims Officer within our Motor Claims Department.
The main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Processing motor claims, collating detailed information and required documentation.
- Monitoring the progress of a claim and providing feedback to the customer.
- Processing surveys and bills related to the claims.
- Liaise with the team to determine liability and negotiate the terms of a claim.
- Adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have an advanced level of education.

- Display excellent customer service skills.
- Be capable of communicating effectively in both English and Maltese.
Previous experience within the local insurance industry and knowledge of the automotive sector would be considered an asset.
